Acceptable Use Policy

What RankShark may be used for, what it may not, and how we enforce it.

Last updated

In short

  • Work only on sites and listings you own or have the owner’s written permission to test or promote.
  • No ad fraud, no targeting competitors, no manipulating reviews, votes or other counts, no illegal content.
  • Blocked domains apply to every workspace and new workspaces’ first campaigns are reviewed.
  • Breaches can lead to paused campaigns, suspension or termination. Report abuse to [email protected].

This summary is for convenience; the numbered sections below are what apply.

1 Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to everyone who uses RankShark (“the service”), including your team members, your clients who use report logins or shared links, and any software or AI agent you connect through the API or MCP server. It is part of the Terms of Service, and you are responsible for everyone who uses the service through your account.

2 Only sites you are allowed to work on

Use the service only for websites, listings and pages that you own or have written permission to test or promote from their owner. You are responsible for having that permission and must be able to show it if we ask.

3 Things you must not do

  • Ad fraud: generating impressions or clicks on ads that you or others are paid for, inflating ad-network, affiliate or pay-per-click metrics, or draining a competitor’s ad budget.
  • Unauthorised targets and disruption: targeting sites you do not have permission for, including competitors, or disrupting any service (denial of service, overloading, scraping against a site’s terms).
  • Manipulating counts: votes, polls, reviews, ratings, sign-ups or other counts that others rely on.
  • Unauthorised access and abuse: trying to access accounts, systems or data without authorisation, or using the service for credential stuffing, carding, spam or phishing.
  • Illegal content: visiting or promoting illegal content, including content that exploits children, incites violence or infringes intellectual property.
  • Getting around limits or security: our blocklist, plan limits, the isolation between customers, or the rules of the servers your workspace runs on.
  • Reselling access: reselling or sharing access to the service outside your plan. White-label reports for your own clients are allowed.

4 How we enforce it

  • A list of blocked domains applies to every workspace; campaigns cannot target them.
  • The first campaigns of every new workspace are reviewed by our staff.
  • We may look at your workspace’s campaigns, read-only, to review them, investigate a report or provide support. Every such view is logged.

If we believe this policy has been breached we may, depending on how serious it is: ask you to change a campaign, block domains, pause campaigns, suspend the workspace, or end the subscription. We tell you why, unless the law or an investigation prevents it. Serious or repeated breaches may lead to termination without a refund.

5 Reporting abuse

Report suspected abuse to [email protected], with the site affected and the time it happened. We acknowledge reports within two business days.

6 Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes are announced by email at least 14 days in advance, except where a change is needed to stop ongoing abuse.
